Here are the steps to getting this tool up and running:
- Install the Remote for Slides Chrome extension onto your computer
- From your computer, open up a Google slides presentation (if you already had one open, then refresh) and click the 'Present with Remote' button
- From your phone or tablet, open up a browser and go to s.limhenry.xyz
- From your computer, hover over the loaded presentation and click on 'Show ID & Start Remote'
- Enter the displayed code on your phone or tablet
- You are now connected and can proceed through the slides from your phone.
Wow! I've been waiting for something like this - thanks! Is there anything that will do the same for non-presentation software?
ReplyDeleteThere are some wireless systems, such as ScreenBeam, that will allow you to project your computer without it being hooked up. It costs money though. I don't know of anything else off the top of my head, but if I discover something I will let you know.
DeleteThank you for sharing this! I have been looking for something like this.
ReplyDeleteYou are welcome.
DeleteThank you for sharing this info! I just shared this with our teachers and already have someone trying it out!
ReplyDeleteYou are welcome. I am glad teachers are finding it useful.
DeleteI'm unable to gain access to this extension. The URL won't open. Suggestions?
ReplyDeleteDoes your district/school allow you to add all extensions or do they have a approve them? If they allow you to add any extension, try right clicking on the hyperlink, choose copy link address, open a new tab and paste the URL there. See if that works.
DeleteSweet!! Love it :)
